The Southwest Association of Rail Shippers (SWARS) territory includes the Republic of Mexico and the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Southern California (from and including Fresno and points South thereof), Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah.
The association’s objective is to provide an open forum for railroads, shippers, and others to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest. Topics include, but are not limited to, service, car supply, scheduling, operating practices, technology, etc. Conferences are held twice a year; in the spring and fall at varying locations within SWARS’ territory. SWARS is open to everyone involved in rail transportation including but not limited to rail shippers and receivers, railroads, vendors, 3rd parties, regulators, and others.
